Wheel of Fortune 2000 (almost always shortened to Wheel 2000) was a children's version of Wheel of Fortune created and produced by Scott Sternberg which ran concurrently in first-run on CBS and GSN from September 13, 1997 to February 7, 1998. It was hosted by David Sidoni, with Tanika Ray as the voice of CGI announcer/hostess 'Cyber Lucy'.James Marcione served as. I just don't see the luster in the Wheel of Fortune show anymore. Sure, when it came on all those years ago, I thought Vanna White was a total hottie and the show had an addictive flavor. Plus, you gotta love contestants who get stuck buying a dalmatian museum piece when they don't have any cash left. Nowadays, they just rack up the cash and move on, with no shopping mall- not to mention the fact that Vanna just isn't the same.

The game Wheel of Fortune 2005 affected me the same way. Sure, it can be fun just like the TV show, but something's definitely missing in the conversion to cell phone, and it's very noticeable right from the get-go. And that's competition.

In the game, you basically run through two regular rounds and a bonus round, and you're given a series of puzzles to solve, ranging from movies to shows to famous people. As you guess the right letters, you earn the dollar amount indicated on where you've spun the wheel. Score enough points getting it right and you can earn a perfect rating. And, um, then you start over and do it again.

Wheel of Fortune 2005 sadly deteriorates into a boring affair rather quickly. That's because the game doesn't pit you against any competition, either automated or human, and makes the game a completely lopsided affair. There's a lot of puzzles, to be sure, but the point is lost, and you can't even upload your high scores to compare against others. The graphics are okay, representing the show the best they can, but they're pointless without different contestants to face.

Wheel of Fortune 2005 has some appeal for die-hard fans of the show, but not nearly enough to keep you going for the long haul. It's got some bad ideas installed into its cell phone conversion, killing the thrill of competition in favor of a cheap TV presentation. Thanks, I'll pass and anticipate Jeopardy! instead.

What's Hot: Die-hard fans will appreciate this game.

What's Not: Not very challenging, and it won't hold your attention for too long.
