The Grand Tour is a twist on PokerStars’ Spin & Go jackpot tournaments. It’s essentially a progressive knockout tournament that’s split into several stages known as sprints. You can buy into. In late April, PokerStars launched a new game called Grand Tour. It is a sort of hybrid Spin & Go, steps, and progressive knockout contest. It is a sort of hybrid Spin & Go, steps, and progressive.

Please note: 10% of the buy-in goes to the rake.

When you register, the buy-in (minus rake) represents both your progress on the road and your total bounty value.

If you win a sprint and reach a value of $100 or more, you'll win your bounty value, plus all the additional bounties you accumulated during the sprints you completed.

Each sprint is a Sit & Go Hyper Turbo tournament, where four players with similar values at registration compete and try to eliminate each other to determine a winner.

Like Progressive KOs, each elimination means:

Pokerstars
  1. Your own bounty value increases by a given percentage of your opponent's value, getting you closer to the finish line
  2. You pocket a part of your opponent's bounty value straight away. This value will be multiplied, giving you a chance to get an even bigger prize. The multiplier is based on the probability tables shown below

If you win a sprint, you keep your bounty value and can continue your journey to the finish line by playing another sprint without having to buy-in again – this time starting closer to the finish line.

You can play the following sprint whenever you want: immediately or later.

Prizes and probabilities

At the start of each sprint, the average bounty value between the four players defines:

  1. The percentage of each player’s value that will go towards the progressive parts
  2. The percentage used to define the amount that is awarded to the players immediately
  3. The probability of each prize multiplier when the elimination occurs

For instance, if the average bounty value at the start of the sprint is €10, and you eliminate a player whose value is €10, your own value will increase by €5 (50%), you will immediately win €2.50 (25%), and this value will be multiplied by a number between 1 and 300, based on the probability tables below.

Grand Tour is played in Progressive KO format, wherein players go through different stages, dubbed “sprints“, until their bounty reaches more than $100 by the end of each sprint. The game is available in buy-ins of between $1 and $60, and players have the option to begin at the lowest level ($1), or go directly into the $60 buy-in where they’ll have more chances of finishing the race.

Players kick off the action with 1,000 to 1,250 starting sack, according to their chosen buy-in level. Starting bounties for each player will be equal to the buy-in minus the rake. The lower stakes will see blind levels going up every four hands, while blind levels at the higher stakes increase every six hands.

When you eliminate an opponent, up to 50% of their bounty will be added to your own bounty (60% at higher stakes). You may also get extra cash from that player’s bounty value through randomized bounty prizes which can be multiplied up to 6000x.

Your own bounty increases with every opponent that you knock out, and even if you end up being eliminated from the game, you won’t leave empty-handed as the money you earned from knocking out your opponents will all be yours. If you win a certain sprint, you will advance to the next sprint, and so forth, until you reach the finish line where your accumulated bounty will be added to your winnings and you ultimately become a PokerStars Grand Tour champion.

Innovation Continues At PokerStars

Severin Rasset, Managing Director and Commercial Officer for Poker at The Stars Group, said the Grand Tour is fast, competitive, and progressive and a first of its kind in the world of poker.

Over the years, PokerStars has built a strong reputation of releasing new and innovative games. Last month, it also launched Swap Hold’em, a limited-time cash-game variant. Do check out the new game and see if you like it.
